I needed a starter for my 25hp Mercury outboard. Contacted the local dealer and was told $176 for a new one, plus tax. Ouch.
Mentioned it to my neighbor buddy a couple days ago, who replied that he might be able to hook me up with a better deal. Today he tells me that his friend has just what I need, so we mosey on over to his buds house. The guy had a RUNNING 25hp Mercury that he sold to me for fittybux!!
SCORE!! I'll move the starter over and keep the rest for spares. Heh.
Took it home and hung it on the transom next to mine... hmmm... looks pretty good sitting there just like that. Gives a fella ideas!
