What's a good fishfinder/GPS combo?

Hey Guys-

I'm going to get a new fishfinder/GPS combo and want to get a good one. I have about $600ish to spend on it and I plan on doing about 75% lake and 25% ocean fishing in Southern California. I'm going out for fun and to take my boys with me, so something fairly easy to use.

So...I'm sure I'll get a ton of different answers, but what do you think is a good fish finder and why? Thanks.

I'm not a Lowrance fan but there isn't a better unit in that price range than Lowrance HDS FF/GPS combo.
