It's a 10HP Johnson, made in Hong Kong in model year 1990.

ezeke, where did you find that info? I figure it is a Hong Kong 9.9hp, 2002 (SN). But I can't find that listed either. I do see a 2002 HJ10R4SN (four-stroke) listed.

It is a 1990 9.9hp commercial model !

Where did you find 9.9? Both of my references say 10HP. The first one lists it as a commercial, the second as a Johnson, The second list (omc archive) includes commercial which is why the recreational code INTRODUCES does not apply.

Sorry wrong 10 hp not 9.9. I read across from the 9 hp column to the next without noticing the change to 10 hp.
Looking in your first link

all very confusing when they use 10 in the model number for 9.9 models

Found it in my list too. Thanks everybody for clearing that all up. Yep, the system goes out the window when talking about commercial models. Sticking that 4 in there and making it a four-stroke didn't help any either.
