1996 15 horse evinrude

I have a 1996 15 horse evinrude and the thermostat went out and the new one wont be here till next week and i wanna go fishing this weekend so could i run the motor without the thermostat or will it mess the motor up

I wouldn't do it. I understand that the thermostat works to help circulate the water. I can't believe that it would take that long to get a thermostat for a motor that current. I would try a different dealor and most likely, they would stock it.

he is probably ordering on line, fine to take the tstat out, but replace it.
