I have an old Sea king outboard, model# 14EA-8822A, serial# 377-00188. "Sea King" on gas tank. no HP notation. Tag says it was made for Montgomery Wards. Any info or dates?

The number should start with a VWB. Do you see a number like that? About what size horse power is the motor? A common number for seaking would be VWB52121

Re: Looking for info/date for my Sea King

Thanks for your response. The motor is a small one. Maybe 1.5 to 3Hp Max. After closer inspection the metal tag and numbers I referred to appear to Montgomery Wards' info. I don't find any #'s with the VWB. They could just be faded off. It has an open top flywheel for the pull rope. There is a crank like handle under the fuel tank that turns 180 degrees. It attaches to the carburater and has settings that read in an arc from right to left, "Lean", 1,2,3,4, "Prime". It also has what appears to be a spark advance attached under the flywheel housing and the handle extends over the top of the gas tank. On the label where the Sea King label is there is small black lettering that is almost faded away but I can make out the word "certified" on the top line. the letters before it are too faded but may be abbr. or initials. the second line reads "Brake Horsepower". On the bottom line I can make out "3750 RPM". Also on the very top of the flywheel are the "Sea-King" and the letters "M.W. & Co". Don,t know if this helps or not. Is there a standard location on the motor where i should find the numbers you refered too? Thanks in advance for all your help! Billy
