just brought a pontoon boat, the water pressure gauge is fitted but the pressure line is not connected to the motor can any one tell me where it should be connected

Two possibilities: 1) Some work just fine with a simple "Tee" connection into the tell tale. 2) Other engines require connection to an unused port in the water jacket. Try #1 first.
