Motor Overheated now slow cranking

Took my 2000 Tige out this weekend and the Serpentine Belt broke. The boat overheated and after the alarms went off we cut the boat off and got a tow back to the dock. I put the new belt on but now when I got to crank the boat it turns over very slowly if at all. I can tell the battery cables are getting hot when I am trying it. Is this a fluke starter problem or has something happened to the motor? It did this with a jump box and jumping with a car.

Thanks

Why are you jumping it from a car? In my opinion, if you shut the boat down when the alarm sounded I wouldn't think you did anything too serious to the engine. You really need to use a fully charged battery that's in good condition before making any assumptions.

And make sure the connections to the battery are TIGHT! Hand tightened wing nuts ARE NOT acceptable! EVER!! 'nutcase

Ayuh,... Pull the plugs,+ see if it's Hydro-locked...

The belt broke could mean somthing is getting tight / seized. Take the good belt back off and have a look.
