Kinda a boat topic, lets just say I have been boating only a few times, and enough times to know I WANT ONE. All the years i've been missing out!!

Anyways I assume its just becuase I am not used to it, but what concerns me is if I spend more than lets say 2 hours on a boat, with all the rocking and waves, once back on land, I feel like I am still on a boat. It lasts longer than normal, like for the entire day and even at night. Will this get better the more I am out?

Try spending 48 hours out in the ocean and see how long it lasts. :D

No, you don't get immune to it. I've had my "seas legs" for 35 years and still feel the effects after being out in the rough.

I got that one time just from the trailer rocking while moving around working on my boat. Took a shower right after and it felt like the floor of the shower was rocking side to side.

THat is perfectly normal. It is just the fluid in your inner ear moving around. SOme people are more succeptable to iit than others. But it will happen forever I would assume.
Good luck and happy boating.

try spending weeks on one!

and what he said... you get used to it, but it will always happen... just consider that you get to enjoy the water after you've already returned to shore...

the wife and i got a little freaked out the night after our first long day on the boat. the whole house was moving! i closed my eyes in the shower and almost took a tumble..i was concerned for the wife cause it actually made her a little nauseous for a few hours and i was hoping she wouldn't get turned off from boating. so now two months later after some decent amount of time boating we have both gotten used to it. but it hasn't stopped happening.

I get it as well but it only lasts for a few seconds. Usually by the time I'm off the dock its already starting to go away and by the time I reach my truck it's gone. Those first few steps on the dock though are pretty rough.

I only get it when I am on the ocean for at least a half day, but it will last through the evening.

Spend 6 - 9 months out in the ocean with 90+ days between setting foot on dry land, you'll get over it. It has never lasted for more than a half hour for me and I've got my land-legs back.

I get it the beginning of the season, then it abates. I actually like it!

I have never noticed it. Been on boats my whole life and love it. Took a cruise for a week and the last two days of the cruise, we sailed through a forming tropicala depression, huge cruise ship was rolling pretty good. Got off of it and never had an issue.

I would think that the longer you boat, the more you get sed to it and begin to not notice it as more...

Its called "mal disembarkment" and is related to mal de'mere (sea sickness). A form of "motion sickness" where the autonomic nervous system resets its interpretatoins (gain levels) of inner ears, eyes, plantar area of feet and
other balance inputs that help you maintain balance and spacial orientation. The degree of the symptoms varies from "none at all" to "very annoying" within the normal population. It can last from seconds to several days.
