I have a 1997 115 johnson that wont idle when trimmed down. Replaced fuel pump. Also replaced primer bulb. Also the primer bulb never gets hard when pumped.

Hold the primer with the arrow/or out end pointing up when you pump it. Its what the BRP dealer told me for my new one. And its the only way it works correctly.

As for the no idle when trimed down. Is the float level to high? Is there gas running out of the carbs when it running?

No gas running out of the carbs. I should also mention motor runs great at top speed. Thanks

Idling when trimmed down I have found is when the motor runs at it's slowest. I think due to the amount of motor submerged at that point. Have you tried setting the idle speed while the motor is running in this position and in gear while you are on the water ?? What RPM is it idling at when trimmed a little higher ??

It just floods out immediately when trimming down.
