I'm a rookie at the boat life. I recently got a Mercruiser 1984 4 cylinder. I would like to start the engine at home, where and how do I connect a garden hose to it?

You need to get a set of muffs. They are like 7 bucks at any local boat store. You slide them over the water inlets in the lower unit and fasten your hose there...

Howdy,

You need to obtain a "Flushing Attachment" like the one indicated on page 65 in the PDF below. Do not run the engine without having water connected even for a few seconds or the sea-water pump will be permanently damaged.
