I have the opportunity to buy a 92 Sea Swirl Spyder in really good shape with an OMC 4.3L I/O. My question is will I have a hard time finding/replacing parts for the I/O if something fails or does Bombardier still support OMC's I/O's? I tried looking on here and other places to find answers but couldn't find any. The guy wants $6000 for the boat/trailer package and wondered if this would be a wise choice or not. Any input would greatly be appreciated a lot.

Thanks,

Dale

No! It's a TERRIBLE deal. Did you look at the blue book? OMC issues aside, this guy is asking 3 times too much. I paid under book for my boat, and no one should have to pay multiple times what a vehicle is worth, no matter how great a shape it's in. Keep looking!

OK thanks for the advice. I will keep looking. I live In Ontario, Canada so boat prices are fairly high. Not many people are offering boats for a "Good" deal. I hate seeing nice boats go by but your right, If it's too much then it is! I have a few other boats that I'm looking at. I need to find a deal. It's very frustrating trying to talk to boat owners about pricing. They all think their boats are gold and won't die :p.

OMC is out of business. Bombardier still makes OEM stuff and there are many aftermarket companies making parts. I have an '89 4.3 Cobra and have never run into a problem getting parts. My dealers on LI stock most common OEM parts right on the shelf. There are OEM suppliers on the web with delivery in 2 days and iboats stocks lots of stuff also. The 4.3 is a chevy (same as merc) so internal parts are universal. I'm not advocating buying the boat just dispelling any myth that you can't get stuff.
