1984 70hp evinrude motor

I am having problems starting my motor as soon as I turn the key it pops the fuse coming off the starter solenoid. I replaced the starter and the solenoid and it still does it. I dont see any bad spots in the wiring and all my conections are clean. If any one has any suggestions that would be great.

Do you think it could possibly be in the ignition switch??

the fuse controls the wiring in the starter circuit, including the controller, you probably have brittle insulation in the control and a short. yes it could be bad switch.

ok thanks I am going to pull apart the ignition this week and check my connections this week. I will let you know what happens. Thanks again!!!
