Re: Mercury Outboard 150, V6 - Alarm
On the starboard side of the engine, just above the switchboxes is a terminal strip. One terminal has3 wires on it, a wire going into the harness, one to a temp switch on a head, and one to the oil alert module mounted on the port side of the engine. Disconnect the temp and oil wires. turn on the key.
If the alarm sounds, there is a short in the harness.
If it doesn't reconnect the other two wires till it sounds. Follow the wire to the bad component. A continuous beep out of either with a cold engine is a failure.
