86 225 no pulse

i got an 86 evinrude 225 and the pulse line going to the fuel pump dosent put out enough air to work the pump. one minute it will work the pump and the next it wont. can beat reeds cause this?

follow the hose, there should be a check valve at the block, flush it and check for one way flow, clean hose out too or heck replace the whole lot.

valve is new hose is new.
