I am looking at buying a 94 Evinrude 112spl from from a friend who has lost interest in boating. The last time the boat was run was about 2yrs. ago and there were no problems. Had no luck starting so replaced the plugs and its getting spark when cranking. (dont no if its good enough but there is spark)
Pulled the carbs, cleaned and put kits in them, replaced primer bulb in fuel line, pulled fuel pump apart checked diaphram and reassembled, added fresh gas to the tank. Now i'm getting fuel at the plugs.
Question is where do I go from here? Is there any way to check coils? I put an ohm meter on them following procedure I found in another thread and they seem fine. How can I check the power pack or any other possible electric problem?
This would be a really good deal for me if I could just get it running. I dont want to start replacing components not knowing if they're bad are not. Any help on where to go from here would help.
