How to leave the beach?

From the forums I have decided not to beach my boat, but to anchor stern in. What is the best way to leave when waves are coming in?

start it up and pull the stern loose, then pull the anchor up with engine running. have someone bump it in and out of gear if you need be. i usually idle out quite a ways if there are people on the beach so there is little disturbance from my wake.

I'm sure that you've read this already, but it never hurts to repeat...don't anchor only from the stern (leaving the back of your boat exposed to waves).
