Is it ok to use any 80-90 W gear oil in a 120 mercruiser drive.

I used synthetic, but now i just use reg. gear oil to much $$$.

Mercruiser gear lube is ten backs a quart, once a year.....
You must really be on a tight budget.....

Quicksilver high performance gear lube for me. I think its absolutely the same stuff, just a different color bottle and sold somewhere else.

Ayuh,.... Any good clean hypiod oil will Work,....
Personally,... I see the Synthetics worth the extra ca$h... I run Mobil 1, in 75W-90....
