90hp Mercury will not do anything when turning ignition switch. Power trim and radio work fine. Tried jumping to see if battery was bad but still nothing. Acts as though boat is in gear and not in neutral. Any suggestions on what the problem may be?

Boat might think it's in gear.......yes boats have feelings too

The neutral safety switch may still be open. The neutral safety switch has a relatively high probability of failure compared to other components in the starting circuit.

While holding the key in the start position with one hand, wiggle the shift leaver with the other hand...when the connection is made, the starter will talk.

If this fails to work, you can check the big red circuit breaker on the engine

Thanks, I will try your suggestion this weekend. I'm not sure where the neutral safety switch is located. Is this on the shifter or on the motor? I'll see if I can check the breaker as well. Thanks again! I'll let you know something on Monday.

I think that switch is in the box, not on the engine. I could be wrong though, I don't know for sure.
