I had to get new plugs for my Tahoe tubes. The ones I received where nylon. I use the Pontoon in Saltwater would brass plugs work in the tubes, I am just a little concerned about nylon plugs.

Re: Tube plugs

We have used plastic plugs in our tubes for 12 years and I have never heard of anyone having a problem salt water or not.

Of coarse change them if you want but I don't think nylon plugs will ever cause a problem.

Re: Tube plugs

The last two pontoons I have owned had nylon plugs, no problems.

nylon plugs, no worry about galvanic reaction, or salt water corrision.

Re: Tube plugs

Dissimilar metals (brass, aluminum) in contact with each other, in salt water = trouble. I have used my pontoon boat in salt water with nylon plugs at least a few times each of the last 3 seasons with no ill effects. I would stick with the nylon.
