I just got a mercury 1998 9.9. What type of oil to mix with fuel? What is the oil to fuel ratio? Thank you,

I assume this is a 2-stroke motor. I used a 50-1 mix.

Use any TC-W3 rated outboard oil. 1 pint to 6 gallons of regular unleaded gas. That is a 48:1 mix that we usually call 50:1.
