force won't run

Ok my motor is a 89 50hp just put a new fuel line and bulb on it. But when it starts it slowly dies like it is running out of gas takes about 10 sec, and it will reve up again and idel if I slowley squeeze the prime ball. Do you think all it needs is a new fuel pump kit witch I have on order. thanks.

Fuel pump diaphragm would be my first guess.

And tighten all fuel line connections that could be sucking in air.

Thats along the lines I was thinking I odered the diaphram and oring kit I,ll let you know what happens when I install it. Thanks.
