It will only get closer to that as time goes by.

LOL, I thought of using a false name, but, then they don't want to accept my plastic. :D:D It is a shame that big brother is watching every detail.

I never have the pizzeria deliver, I always go pick it up. I give the order under my first name only. I always pay cash. If they want more information (last name, cell phone #, etc), I cancel the order and hang up or walk out.

Who says we'll ever reach that point. Consider the following quote from Albert Einstein:

?I do not know with what weapons World War III will be fought,
but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.?

Thought provoking isn't it?

Until they make you wear your ID at all times, on your right hand or forehead - and don't allow you to purchase or sell without it.

Obviously, not a new concept....

Hyperbole. The level of technology implied by using sticks and stones for fighting is too low to allow anyone to cross a major barrier like a sea. Therefore, not a "world war".

If you are already in the store, THEY know who you are. Your license plate has been recorded. No purchase necessary :)

There's always caller ID too - so THEY have your name if you call in. (It makes me wonder why they ask - perhaps they are testing if you are lying?)

Maybe I should put a disclaimer in here: I'm being semi-serious with these comments.

Who said the earth's population would be spread around the globe as it is now? One could consider WWIII would eliminate all but those on one continent.

Re: Ordering Pizza in 2010

my local pizza shop owner and his delivery man was assassinated by two punks who thought they could get into organize crime as hit men by ambushing them as they pulled up to the house.
gathering some information, and verification is just neccesarry part of the business, or they would have an awful lot of uneaten pizzas.

I saw that a long time ago. Notice the format is like Windows 98. It's still funny though.

Re: Ordering Pizza in 2010

When I first moved to Georgia I attempted to order pizza from a Pizza Hut. When I gave them my cell number (which had a Michigan area code) they said they couldn't take my order because their computer wouldn't accept the area code. Duh. So I said, the computer system that is supposed to save you time and money is going to make you lose a sale huh? Sounds smart.

There are still plenty of mom and pop shops out there selling much better pizza then the 'chain' stores anyways. Heck with em.

I also used to deliver pizzas when I was a teenager. Any pizzas that people said they didn't order, went directly into my belly. I lost out on a tip but, boy I ate well. And no, I NEVER got sick of eating pizza. :D

Seems I recall this was a gimmic - a scare tactic based on the anti-terrorist polices. However, that's in the past now. Old history.

How soon we forget 9/11. Everyone is our friend now. Oh wait, I will bet you would not feel safe going to Iran, N Korea, Sudan, ect. Do you really think they are not still trying to find a way to take us down. I am sorry, but not to offend you, but are you really that naive?

That video is def scary. Though in the back of my mind, I was thinking 'if only data was so easy to collect in one place'. I'm lucky when I go a full week without having to reboot my phone.

The latest news items on the ACLU site are certainly scary. I just wish the ACLU spent more time defending everyones' rights rather than following Al Sharpton around. Right or wrong, I consider them in the same standing as PETA.. a great idea completely derailed.

Seriously, wield your 'terrorists are everywhere' drama elsewhere. It sounds as though you are out to kill others (that IS what pre-emptive strike means, don't you know), so it is only proper for them to figure a way to kill you in a like 'pre-emptive strike'.

Moral of the story, the paranoid are the ones who cause these neverending cycles of violence and hysteria. If you are so big on never moving forward from the past, how about you give back the land of tribals who lived here before it was decided this was a nice spot to make camp. Celebrate Columbus Day, do ya?

In my experience, "naive" is the moral-less' way of calling out those who don't think at the same sadistic level they do. We used to be called 'innocents' by those same people. Don't worry, though, the people you want dead will always be seen as the evil enemy, since history is always written by the victors.
