Hey all !
I like this board,I found it while trying to dig up info on my motor.
I installed a new impeller this weekend and I have fouled somethign up...It isnt acting like its in gear properly...in neutral it acts like its in gear and I cant find a neutral spot where the prop doesnt eaither click or stop as if its in fwd or reverse.... I got a pretty good idea that there is a cog inside that is not the way its supposed to be for it all to go back together right--- but before I make it worse I am gonna ask..... any help is mor ethat appreciated---- try to do something yourself and fouled it up !

Did you reconnect the shifter rod when you installed the lower unit?

Re: 75 Force- gear mishap ??

thanks for reply,,,, I am pretty sure I got it reconected although its not exactly the same at that one...mines internal. It connectes together through a splined link when you reconnect the lower unit...its a bugger to line up and get the splines to mesh together.Similar to an axle assembly.
I cant imagine having to take it to the local boat shop to get them to put it right.....
Oh and mines a 99 75 hp but the rod is in the same area but they put it inside the housing.

Remove the lower unit.
put lower unit in forward.
Put controls in forward.
