fuel filter

Hi, I have a 1975 2 hp johnson. My question is am I suppose to have a inline fuel filter on it ? When I bought it it did not have one. Thanks

No, it does not have an in-line fuel filter.

Actually, it is supposed to have a filter screen in the gas tank (part of the fuel shut-off valve)

I run an inline filter on mine just because, certainly can't hurt and if it keeps me from lceaning my carbs all the better.

So you can if you want.
