tach type and hook-up???

I would like to put a tach in my boat. BUT I don't know what kind or how to hook it up. I have a '58 four fifty 'rude w/magneto ignition. ANY HELP apprictiated PLEASE HELP and thank you.

X2 on the Tiny Tach, I have one on my 78 70hp and love it... Easy to mount, indestructible, and very inexpensive IMO as it's a tach and hour meter all in one...
