1970 johnson 9.5 water pump

I was checking the water pump impeller and noticed no top seal in the housing. I checked my factory repair manual and it is not shown in the parts diagram but one is shown in the housing diagram. does anyone know which is right? the seal i am looking for would be at the top of the housing with the driveshaft going through the middle. thanks this is my first post- Jim

mine has one. they even come in the sierra kit.

There is a rubber seal that goes between the driveshaft tube and the waterpump; part# 309,607 and a seal that goes within that, part 309583.

The rubber seal sometimes sticks on the driveshaft tube, so look up there before ordering.
