Merc 500 Choke Solenoid

Hello, this is my first post. I have a 1966 Merc 500 that is missing the choke solenoid. The plunger is still attached to the carb linkage. I am buying a new solenoid, but I haven't figured out exactly where and how it is supposed to be mounted. Any specific instructions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the diagram. What does the base of the choke solenoid mount to?
