I've seen some boats with a green tint on their windshield? What is the purpose, is it for glare?

You are correct. Just like a car windshield some have an anti glaring coating on them.

My 2209 Lund comes with a tinted windsheild (side console). It is to reduce glare. I also like it because I can see it there as opposed to a clear one that I might hit with my rod or something.

Unless it is a really dark green then it is simply the curvature of the glass playing tricks on the camera. If you go and look at most boat windshields they look clear even the old ones. If the boat is newer than around 1980's then it typically has a film on the glass to prevent the glass from shattering when it breaks. Kind of like a car windshield. Some of the cheaper curved boat windshields will look distorted when looking through the curved part.

yep, that'd be my windshield. 1975.
it truly is coke bottle green plexiglass. #2111 i believe.
no idea why aristocraft used colored Plexiglas. it does cut down on the sun though. which i personally like. in my case the green Plexiglas aslo matches the color of my boat. but i don't think that was the reason for the colored Plexiglas as i've seen different colored aristocrafts with the same color plexiglas as i have.

Actually......

Older automotive windshield glass had the green tinting added to reduce ultraviolet sunlight rays to help reduce heat and also to keep the interior of a air conditioned auto cooler. Non-air conditioned autos had clear glass without the green tint. Remember back when A/C was an expensive option?

Newer windshield glass no longer has the "green" tinting added to it and are now polarized instead. You can really see the affect when you wear a pair of polarized sunglasses. From a short distance the glass looks modeled and blurry but up close its clear.
