Hey, i have an older 115 Mercury and the tilt and trim hasn't worked since i bought the boat from someone. I hear a clicking in the switch, but nothing from the motor, even tried bypassing straight to a battery and nothing so i'm assuming the motor is bad. Looks like it has two bolts holding the motor itself on, one in the back that i think is impossible to reach. Can someone tell me the best way to get the motor off. Do i need to loosen the whole motor or can i drop the whole trim unit out the bottom? thanks for any help

Welcome to iboats. This needs to be in the proper forum for a good response. I will shuffle it along for you!

Heels, You might post the year of the motor. Diffierent PTT units were removed in different ways.

If the PTT unit mounted between the transom brackets, and you can get the motor tilted up manually, you should be abke to get to the motor. My '93 Merc had 4 allen screws holding the motor to the pump.
