Flywheel magnet problem

I have a 1982 Mercury 40 HP. Mod # 5994070 2 cylinder, compression 145 / 138 . My problem is, that one of the two fly wheel magnets has come loose and destroyed itself and some of the electronics under the flywheel. Is there a kit that I can buy to repair the magnet ( glue in) or someone I can send it to, to get repaired? Or better yet ,someone know of a place to get a used one. Nobody in the Austin Texas area has one at this time.

They could not help me, this seems to be a hard to find flywheel. Anybody have another lead, or a bad fly wheel with one good magnet.

When I check the part number for the battery stator on your engine it looks to be the same number as the newer 20 and 25s if thats the case then a magnet out of one of the flywheels should work and the are some of them around scrapped. In fact anyone who races a 24XS Mercury probably has a pile of them.
