i think they're unique looking boats. therefore cool. i bet it'd be fun to be way up at the bow at speed..... i'd leave it an i/o though. the twins are a good idea but would go better on a power cat or something.... restoreing it to original is better i think...........

thats where its listed. A buddy of mine lives near there, and Is making a trip out to us for a wedding. They have no price, they say just make an offer. I was thinking of having him check it out.

It is very ugly, no question about it. I bet you wont see another one like it for a very long time.(maybe there is a good reason for that) You know what they say, beauty is in the eve of the beholder. In this case a drunk guy with an eye infection.

Oh btw, they have it listed as a 16ft Johnson FrontRunner II. They don't list a year, but I would asume its late 60's or early 70's. Just a guess though.

They have the motors listed there also. They wan't a grand for both the motors with all the rigging. Bet you could get the price down though.

ran one of those "super quiet" 35hps for 2 or 3 years, very dependable, loud and smoky. 500 each seems steep. i say keep it original, coulor and all.

That looks like a fun cruiser but I think you would take a pounding at planing speeds in waves or wakes being up front like that. That is one crazy bow rail.

Didn't notice it either till you said something. Looks like it's just laying there temporarily.

Re: how about this for a new project???

Did anything come of this project?? I ask only because I'm restoring a 1970 Evinrude Explorer (the sister ship)(...and it ain't no SCOW!). Beauty is in the eyes of a 12yo and I think it's still beautiful some 40 years later. I found one and I bought it post haste!!

The Johnson is in a boat salvage yard in OK. I emailed several weeks ago about parts and was told they'd be willing to part it out. Apparently it's missing the OMC but the rest of it is there.

Any other Explorer/Frontrunner fans/owners out there??
