I just bought this motor and boat for a very reasonable price. I'm going to attach some pictures and what I'd like to know is what year the motor is and what is the proper fuel/oil ratio. I got the motor running no problem, all I had to do was put a battery to it and turn the key. The problem is it runs really rough. I pulled the carb off and removed the bowl and the low speed needle and let everything soak in carb cleaner overnight. I put it back together and was still having the same problem. Is there a high speed needle on this carb? The really funny thing is when I push the spark plug wires forward (as in the picture) the engine seems to idle up, smooth out, and run nicely. This made me think that perhaps this is a timing issue? The previous owner had the boat sitting for about 8 years, so I was shocked when it fired up right away. If theres anyone who can help, it would be greatly appreciated.

That's a two year old thread you replied to. Start a new thread for your question, and be sure to identify your outboard and state your problem. The guy you wrote to probably isn't even here any longer.
