I need step by step instructions....'55 Evinrude 7.5

I can't figure out how to go about the impeller replacement:redface:.I've never done it before & my parts guy doesn't have the repair manual.If someone can be so kind as to walk me through this I'd GREATLY APPRECIATE IT !!!!!!!! The repair guy said it's super easy, but is it for a first timer??

Find a Service Manual, WATERTIMES. Seems to me we have suggested that before.

You need pix as well as words.

Try eBay, iboats, kencook.com, etc.

Super easy, HA! Not for a novice that has never worked on one. First thing, the powerhead has to come off in order to disconnect the shift rod. When you put it back together you will need a new powerhead gasket and the cork gasket and o-ring on the shaft seal assembly. If it still has the original brass washer on the seal, that probably is worn out too and needs a new stainless steel one.

Get that service manual!!

The powerhead is only held on by 6 screws or so. Once the powerhead is off then you can unscrew the shift rod and drop the LU and open up the water pump.
