Counter Rotation Needed?

I have two 1995 200 HP mercs, one is counter rotation. If I repower, do I have to go with counter rotation? I have seen Donzis advertised with twin Merc 250 Pro XS, and they are not available with counter rotate. If you have hydraulic steering, why do you need counter rotation?

that big i think you would get a lot of torque thrust.

The counter rotating lowers don't have much to do with steering torque but they do have an effect on balance. Steering torque can be corrected with torque tabs and gearcase shape. Hydraulic steering does not eliminate steering torque but just hides it from the driver.

Some boats run just fine with 2 standard units.
