1960's 6 hp evinrude fisherman lower end

are there any diagrams available for how the lower end is assembled?

i may have assembled mine wrong. it does not appear to be pumping water, or if it is, it is not ejecting water.

any help would be appreciated

What's the model number or actual year of your 6hp?

There are exploded view parts books going back to 1968 on-line at http://shop.evinrude.com/
Click on electronic parts catalog on the right and follow the prompts till you get to your motor.

Off the top of my head i dont know the model number or the year. I would guess the motor is between 62 and 68.

Well, that won't help much. In order to use the online diagrams at the listing just posted, or to get much help here, you really need the model number or actual year.

Check your outboard, when you have a chance, and see if you can't find the model number near the transom mount. Give us that, and we can tell you the year of your outboard, and perhaps help you solve your problem.
