Hi guys,
Took a run out today in flat calm conditions, first time with the tach installed.
Tach showed a reading of 5900rpms at WOT (29mph), timing marks were bang on 19deg btdc, - Is this reading expected, &/or potentially harmful to the engine???
Also, tried to get the QL16V plug - none in stock....only had QL78YC, or NGK bpr7hs - are these suitable alternatives?????

Thanks, DAVY

Nothing wrong there, exactly where you want to be.

...and BTW, what year are we talking about? Your model number in your title is wrong. Wasnt it a 93?? If so the QL78YC are the plugs you want, gapped to .030.

Hi Chris,
I was told that engine was a '94 by previous owner, but I,ll have another look at the ID tags on it tomorrow.....is there a difference between years models???
Gap the YC,s at .03in (0.8mm),
thanks for the info.

No all the 2 cylinder 50 horses from 89 to 01 use the QL78YC gapped to .030

You should determine the exact year though, post your model number, the one you have posted there in the title is incorrect. If it is a 94, your model number would look something like E50RLERX, X being a variable, the model run or suffix.

Chris,
ID tag on the swivel bracket says;
Model - E50RNLIC
Ser # - G 03603721
OMC - USA.

Those are the only markings I have found on her...Does the serial # give any more info????
