2 pieces of unknown electronics (5.7VP GLi)

Hi all!

Well my boat is in the water & running... As I alredy said in my previous posts, it's a 97 Chaparral 31 Signature with twin 5.7 GLi engines and DP drives. My previous boat was a Caravelle 1750 SE with a 3.0 GS engine, so you can imagine the difference of the 2 boats.

Well, the V8 engines are new to me, and so far i was able to study & identify almost everything on my new boat. EXCEPT: there are 2 small silver pieces of electronics on the inner side of the transom that say "VOLVO PENTA". Several wires are attached to it, and there is a red LED that's blinking on it. The left engine has a different blinking pattern than the right engine. Can anyone identify it? What is it for? There is 1 on the right side of each engine.

Another clue is also a piece of electronic, also on the transom that's black, has some LEDs and small buttons on it, and i think it has to do something with trimming the drives. There are also 2 of those, on the right side of each engine, above the silver "volvo penta" pieces mentioned above. Well i won't press any buttons & mess with them until i find out what's their purpose. Can anyone identify them?

Post a picture of the different units. Probably have trim sender black boxes (red. green, and yellow LED's) and anti-corrosion boxes (red led). With a couple of pictures, I can confirm for you.

Can you explain to me what it is for & how to use it?

I would also say the red LED thingy an anti-corrosion box, but what is the red LED for? How does this thing work?

Sorry I can't post any pictures, but the boat is like 300 miles away

Additional question:

I have a dual control box (2 levers) with trim control for both drives. The left lever has 2 buttons for up & down and the left lever has 1 hidden button that can be switched to left & right. Can someone explain to me how this thing works? I feel stupid, but it's my first boat with twin engines and I rather ask than break something

Basically it's the brains that knows how far to allow trim to go up and also how far tilt up can be limited and it also is designed to work with a number of different gauges.
I'll have to look for the setting information. For some silly reason, it was never put in a service manual???????

As a matter of fact, I did find them. But I forgot who I was getting it for.
If you PM me your email address I can send it to you. I can't post .pdf files online. It's about 1.2MB in size.
As far as info on how the control operates, no help there. Never seen one.
