CD-15 is 1958, Pat.

Unless it is a museum piece $450 is too much. A good "user" should be more like $250-$300.

That's a 1958. Should be red (Holiday Bronze) with white sides. Takes a pressure tank so make sure its included in the deal. Condition is everything.$450 is pricey even for one in super nice condition. I wouldn't pay more than $250, but $300 is probably reasonable. However, the outboard market might be higher priced in Ohio. Look at the price of 1960's-70's 5 hp Johnson/Evinrudes in your area. Expect that the 1958 should be $50-100 less. IMO

It looks to be in good condition. 1958's are my favorite year as I like the look the best. But I would never pay that much for an engine. $250 would be the high end max that you offered and it would have to have great compression and have the ignition system updated to modern parts to be worth that. Make sure you see it running.

We didn't state it, but I think JB and I were assuming for $250-300 it should be running fine.

Steve, do you ever pay that much for motors? Me either, but he's in the real world. Real people don't normally get motors as cheap as you and I.

That's sweet looking...just make sure it runs as good as it looks before spending even $250 on it. Hopefully, he'll come around and realize that getting "antique" prices isn't a real-world scenario...lots of well-intentioned folks overprice old stuff cause it must be vintage or antique.
