The proper way to lift the engine is with a lift eye that screws in the flywheel

I would think any trackor or hardware store.
It just needs the same threads as the crank shaft stick out of the flywheel.

Jimg, I use a piece of steel plumbers strap that I bolt to the flywheel, using two of those 5/16 fine thread inner flywheel bolts. Bolting a harmonic balanacer puller to the flywheel (3 5/16 flywheel bolts) would be even better. I have a cheap block and tackle that I use for the lifting. The motor is only 300#.

You can use a cable hoist (Cumalong), from the HW store for $20.

I use 2 inch tow strap. Strap around the cowling in X. Then lift with an engine hoist. Heve removed the 1150 and 1500 by lifting from boat with just one other able body. Really not that heavy. Do I recommend that? No, but it can work.
