Are we getting 500 extra a person and 1000 per person for married couples? i think thats what i just saw on tv. Is this right??? Im just wondering? I could really use that money!!!

I heard it could be up to 600 per person and they did say twice that per person for married couples, but I assumed that was an error. Maybe not if you heard it that way too. Also 300 extra per kid.

Anyone know where to get the facts on this??? I just got my last w-2 so now my wife and I have everything we need to do the ole taxes and im going to be in a hurry if there is going to be extra money coming back!! Thanks to anyone that knows where to get the facts on this!!

DM, I don't think it will be money back on your taxes like that. They will probably mail checks to each individual like they did last time. I'd check CNN.com (search for stimulus package) or your local news station's website for more info.

This of course is assuming they do anything. It's not written in stone yet. They are obligated to do "something" by (I think) Feb. 15th, but what they do is still up in the air.

Hold up there 44 Senate aint done yet, they'll screw it up for sure. Any funds sent out would not arrive until mid - late summer, assuming the get it done in the next week

I think 75K per family is the top limit to recieve any benifits ( my tax dollars back )

The limit is $150000 income for families and $75000 for singles.We are supposed to get $600 per person and $300 per dependent child.Thus, a family of 4 will get $1800.
People earning less than $3500 a year will get something to the tune of $300/$350 dollars
The checks are supposed to be in the mail by late June ,early July and it is supposed to jump start the economy.
We will borrow the money from China (1.5 billion dollars) and probably spend it on made in China goods.In other words,it will really help the Chinese economy.(this last remark is a quote from Huckabee.)

I have a problem with people getting rebates when they never had a bate in the first place. Giving 300 back to people who didn't even pay any taxes is socialism.

Be that as it may be.However,the idea is for people to spend that money and not save or invest it.Poor people will spent it on food and the like,they will not save it, so as far as the economic purpose of the check is concerned,those $300 will work very nicely.

Well, seems to me like everybody's jumpin' the gun here. Don't matter as I see it anyhow, just gonna give it to the Arabs anyway, this is just a new way to make us feel good about doin' it. WOOHOO, gonna git me enuff to pay off that $3.44 a gallon fuel oil I had to buy to keep my thermostat set at 56 degrees all winter, so the pipes wouldn't freeze unless it got down to -15 degrees. I sure do like gettin' outta the shower and puttin' the long johns back on to eat supper and watch the tube in the evenin'. Wife sits here on the couch wrapped up in a blanket with a hat on. Yeah, I know WAAAAWAAAAA. But , life's pretty good for us. I see what my neighbors go through.

Hoss it's time to switch to Nat Gas there are new reserves being tapped all the time. the price should stay fairly stable over the next few years
