went to mercury express, typed in my engine number (0L080644) and it came up with 99746a17 as the manifold part number. then went to mercruiser manifolds on iboats and it read that it fits most v6/4.3l applications.
confused!

Re: Help with part numbers

So, what are you confused about? It may fit "MOST" of them, just not all.

And the problem is ??????

You have a 4.3l V6, and that part number is the right one....
The reason is says 'most' is because a few of the V6s used a single piece manifold and to use a -99746A17 on those would require an elbow to be fitted as well. Do you have a one piece manifold?

Any more questions?

Would have been a bit easier if you had said that in the original post. Not all of us have crystal balls to gaze into.

I put your serial number into my parts listing (not on-line) and it came up as a 4.3l V6. Either you have written down the serial number incorrectly or, the installing dealer got your serial number decal and the serial number decal from a V6 mixed up. Check the serial number on the engine itself, not from the carb cover. It's located on the starboard side of the engine, just above the starter motor. You're looking for a shiny aluminium tag, about 1" by 2". It's not the GM engine number. It will have the same format as the number you gave us, 0L something something... 6 digits.

Put a Year on it,+ Even I can probably find the Right manifolds........

There aren't many Choices for a SBC in standard exhaust manifolds.....

Re: Help with part numbers

Where did you find that SN ????? Because it is for a 4.3L motor. A 1998 one to be exact.
But Mercruiser 5.0 and 5.7 engine manifolds and risers are about the most common ones out there. But it's still necessary to know the year and type drive you have.

I see it too.... dyslexia... :D:D

That engine number (OL080844) comes up as a 5.0l V8, funny about that :D:D:D And the numbers for exhaust manifolds are -860246A3 for the port and -860246A7 for the starboard.

May be time for a new set of glasses.;)

Cheers,

Chris..........

Just be aware that's not genuine... I've seen quite a few of the non-genuine manifolds corrode out in under 3 years.... and elbows are even shorter lived. (is that right grammar?)
