Hi....was wondering i want to disconnect batt for less weight and just pullstart boat . where do i modify wires to stop motor, i would like to run them to hand controls for a safty. splice coil wires?

To remove the boat harness for a kill switch you would have to ground and another to the salmon wire to the switch box in the kill switch in the circuit. You also need to remove the 2 yellow wires from the rectifier and tape them off

Cool i need to get in touch with my feminine colors. atlantic pink salmon or river brown? Just joking never thought salmon was a color.

Actually, I don't think there is a salmon wire in the mercury harness. Black with yellow trace is the magneto ground (kill if grounded) and tan is the temp gauge sender wire.

I see salmon wire coming out of switch box in this link i'm posting .mines a 1976 il check tomarrow . I splice the salmon wire? just scared to short anything.thx

Kill switch is orange on my model,found a wire diagram on it. thanks for trying.
