Hello one other thing I noticed was there was not a o-ring in the groove at the top of the drive shaft should I put on on it when I put it back together.

I thought I should so when I go back to the boat shop monday I will get the new o-ring and the little pipe that connects them as well as the right Impellar and gaskets.again thanks to all of you for your help.

The gasket set for the drive is for an Alpha 1 gen 1......
The impeller set is for Alpha 1 gen 1......
Both sets should have everything you need included with them....​

the water tube was most likely melted that way,not crushed.

don't forget the oil passage o ring on the starboard side of the lower unit....easy to miss and forget......pesky little sucker
