trailer lights are wack

well i pulled the harnes off another minivan of same make and model as mine so i wrote the color codes down to rewire and did just that. Now brake works and turn works. If i turn lights on tail works but if i hit turn or brake lights go out. So i looked and seen the white wire was not used on the trailer and grounded it to the trailer now lights dont go out when i hit turn or brake they just stay the same iv looked at a diagram and everything looks to be right am i over looking something here?

Might need to upgrade the brake/blinker relay.
Did you ground the white wire to the trailer or car?

just figured it out i had the lights wired backwards that i put on the back of the trailer. The problem was someone changed the wires through the trailer from the plug and the colors where different so i assumed the brown on brown was correct and it wasnt when i looke under the elec tape from the plug on the trailer to the wires going through the trailer.

Hmmm let me see..... Brown to brown or brown to green....Ahh brown to green will be easier to remember and white to red and yellow to brown and..... Amazing how some people screw up such simple things..

Of course it makes sense. The green treetops give way to the brown tree trunks which grows into the brown earth. Makes perfect sense to me.
