Can you determine model and type by casting#s on 85hp

I have access to a block for my blown engine but am not sure if it is what i need i dont know if it for a distributor or a cdi igniton syle and am not sure how to tell the person with it alresy has it boxed up and ready to ship and they are not sure either i have some #s off the block can you help #s are as follow MARATHON 871-6590 on block , 4054 STAMPED ON THE TOP OF THE ENGINE TWICE. any help will be appreciated.

Goto the BAM Marine site and ck. the numbers,

I cant seem to find anything on the casting #s at the afformentioned site only the serials and i dont have that. Just have the block itself.

Open the parts section and the part number/ casting number will be listed

On my '73 85 HP, the serial number is stamped on the block on the starboard side to the rear of the fuel pump.
