I have a 90 horse johnson 2 stroke. It takes at least a minute of turning over before it will actually start. Once she is going ,she's fine. I don't see any choke devise either. I'm not sure what year it is either. It says CE03/2000. It only has 17hrs. Anybody know how I can get a manual or advise?

Re: Slow to start

Manual and year from dealer, Bombadier is owns copyright to manuals. you motor has a primer solenoid rather than a choke. when starting, pump the bulb. raise the fast idle lever, turn the key to ON. push in on key to activate primer, hold for and 8 count. this allow fuel to enter the intake manifold, rather than choking the carb. release key and turn to start,. you may have to push key in for a second to keep the motor running, then let it settle down and lower fast idle lever. in the water IN GEAR, your idle rpm, should be around 650-700 rpms.
