1977 evinrude 25 hp

Im currently installing the electric start back on this evinrude that i bought. i have the starter and solonoid installed and now trying to figure out how to wire a switch. i seen auto zone has a push button switch but i dont know anything about electrical so is there any one that can help me wire this or send me a diagram. if i remeber there are 4 or 5 wires near the area where the old switch used to be but i have no idea what is what. Please help. Thanks Jason

You need to explain exactly what you have to work with at the moment, such as.... do you have the wiring harness that leads from the engine to the ignition switch? If so, what color are the wires? Do you intend to install a proper ignition switch? As it stands, we're unsure as how to answer your question.

can i use a push button ignition switch, from the local auto store? Thanks Jason
