4.3 Intake manifold

I have an '88 4.3 OMC....trying to install the intake manifold and i have 4 bolts out of the 12 that are longer....where do the longer ones go? It's not obvious looking at the manifold.....

Take a piece of wire or anything, and check the depth of all the holes.
You will then know?

Are they your riser bolts?? If its a v-6 there are 12 manifold bolts(shorter) And you should have 8 longer for the risers.

You sure it's supposed to be 12 shorter bolts? The bolts all have the same head on them with a "v" stamped on them.....not the riser bolts....I have one piece manifolds with studs....

When I took my manifolds and risers off, I had 6 for the port side and 6 for the starb. manifolds, and 4 longer bolts(each) for the riser same diam. 9/16 for all 20 bolts

My manifold has no bolts whatsoever....only nuts and studs....

You have studs coming out of engine to slide the manifolds onto or bolts that slide through the manifold to fasten it to the engine??

I have studs on my exhaust manifolds....it's one piece so no bolts for risers.....

when you removed the manifold were there 2 lifting rings????
longer ones should fit there.

Yes, I have the lifting rings.....can't remember where they go though unfortunately....but I have 4 longer bolts....

I have some pics I took of the engine to help later on....didn't see anything on the front right.....I did see where a bracket goes on one on the back right....you're talking about facing the engine from the pulleys right? Could some of those bolts also hold on my throttle linkage or something? I'm going to get in there and figure it out tomorrow....storm tonight....thanks for your help!
