Seadoo boat linkage

Have 1999 Seadoo Challenger, twin rotax engines. The shift lever went slack, had to be towed back. It does not seem to move the cable at all when the lever is moved. I wonder how hard it is to fix that? How many hours do you think a mechanic would take? Also one of the engines runs rough also, has new plugs and filters. I think I should sell this boat, I have only had it one month and it has only 90 hours on it, but it seems problamatic, and it burned 38 gallons of fuel in 1/2 day of light river boating.

Thanks for the help,
Lew

Re: Seadoo boat linkage

the shift mechanism in those is a REAL PAIN to remove and reinstall...there is a separate plate under the main shifter and trying to get the bolt holes lined up and the bolts in after replacing the cable can be very frustrating(and expensive time-wise)...the 98's and 99's were problematic and thirsty fuel-wise
