Can anyone give me any information on an old Evinrude Elto 1 1/2 HP 1930's vintage? My dad and I used it as a fishing motor in the early 40's, and it ran great. Where can I get parts for it? The serial # is 101639. I would like to restore it. Any help would be appreciated. My email is donwhtmn@yahoo.com.

That serial number doesn't match any list I have for Evinrude/Elto in the 30's. Is there a four digit model number on it as well? That serial number alone, if it is a serial number, would make it a 1918 model A Evinrude. How about a photo?

Does it resemble either of these on Schmebay? Plug the numbers into the Search field and hit the enter key

I don't know where I got those numbers. The numbers on the ID tag are
4266 11896.

Yes indeed wbeaton it's a 38-41 Elto Pal rated at 1.1 hp. It takes an H10J spark plug, gapped at .025, point gap is .020 and fuel mix is 1/3 pint of oil to the gallon. The guys at www.aomci.org can help with your restoration questions.
